PvP is the ultimat goal in World of Warcraft. Here are 8 ways to be a better pvp'er.

10. Respec. Look over your spec and find 1 thing to tweak. No spec is perfect.

9. Practice. Thoes twinks always dueling outside of IF get a little annoying, but most of them are pretty good at pvp. Go out there and duel some people.

8. Ask questions. That guy that just beat your ass? Ask him how.

7. Get better gear. Of course everyone wants to do this, but which is the best PVP gear? Use Blizzards tool to find out.

6. Get some PvP Mods. There are mods that will help you with BG and with Arena, from tracking honor to showing a better mini map. Knowladge is power in pvp.

5. Get in an organized group. Hang out in Shat for a while on BG weekend and join an org group. Hang with them and ask questions, and watch strategy. Another reason to have vent loaded, a lot of organized groups demand you have vent.

4. World PVP. Go out and pick on a random warlock from the other faction. This tests your skills in the "real world"

3. Get ventrilo (Vent) and a microphone. Vent is a free program you can use to chat with other players while. It is invalubale in PVP BG so you don't have to type and can concentrate on playing.

2. Keybind. If you are using your mouse to cast spells or attack, you are wrong. Go into a bg right now and use only your keyboard. Then rebind you keys and do it again. You will suck for a while, but you will get better.

And the #1 way to get better faster at PVP:

1. Learn to macro. For most classes this is the single best way to be better. Pvp is about timing and speed, a macro combines many actions into 1 keystroke. Some good pvp guides are here and here.

I found a new place for gold farming, Shadowmoon Valley, specifically the Ruins of Karabor. You can see the exact location on this map:

There are plenty of targets, as you can see:

The trick is to let them beat on each other a bit:

And they have pretty consistent drops like this:

The Sunfury Signets go for about 1g on my server, and they drop about 20% of the time according to thott

I usually try and sell them in the zone over the general channel. I can sell them for more because people are grinding and want to get done. Like everything, they go for more on the weekends.

In 2.3 mages get a new ability, "Ritual of Refreshment" which basically lets everyone load up on food and water in raids and BG.

Sweet, no more whispering random mages for water. They are cool about it, but it gets to be a pain for everyone.

I'll grab a image off the PTR when I can.

Blizzard announced a few days ago sweeping changes to AV. Read the whole post.

I like these changes a lot. They fit into my play style, and they match what I envision AV to be.

The main difference is that you do not HAVE to kill the other factions leader (Drek or Vann), you just have to remove all reinforcements. Killing the leader does this automatically, but there are other ways to do it. From the post:

"
Reinforcements can be lost in significant amounts if a tower is destroyed or if Captain Galvangar or Balinda Stonehearth is killed. For each team member death, an additional reinforcement will be lost."

That means holding and destroying towers is key, and keeping teammates alive is key as well. Towers are even more important, for every tower you destroy, the other faction loses 1 WM. They WM are also linked, so no more horde cheating:

"
Pulling one is a guarantee the other will come as well."

The real question, of course is, will the honer be as good? ^^

I'm sick of this bullshit, this Cloak of Shadows.

If you don't know what Cloak of Shadows is, check it out.

Are you kidding me? A 1 min cooldown that removes all magic/poisons/diseases and curses? And then the rogue is immune for 5 sec so they can cloak?

While not an "I win" button, it sure is a "Don't lose" button. As if it isn't hard enough to kill rogues as a priest, we really need to get some separation in order to have a chance. Now, for basically any fight they can "poof" gone and stealth back in? You can't even re-dot them.

I have never cried "nerf" before, but this is sick. Rogues might not be as effective against warriors anymore, but to make casters a free kill is sick.

Edit: This guy disagrees.

10 Honor Farming Tips

I like to PVP in World of Warcraft. Arathi Basin is my favorite BG and probably the reason I leveld to 70, just so I could play in the hight bracket. In the battlegrounds though, the better your gear the more fun it is. So to get some of that gear, you have to grind. Here are 10 tips to make that grind easier.

1. Gear differential. When you are starting out, look at the stats and replace your worst gear first, even if it isn't the sexy 2h weapon.
2. Be a gearhead. Check out stats of all the different gear, and get your stats up. Get gems and enchants on the gear you have.
3. Get in a PVP guild. If they don't have enough for organized BG, look for another guild or try and find a pickup organized.
4. Have ventrillo installed and ready to go. If you do get a pickup organized, you want to be ready to rock.
5. Always be cued for AV. When it pops, jump in. AV is the highest time to honor ratio.
6. Never be cued for Warsong Gultch. Unless you really need the tokens, wait until bonus weekend and try and get a group. You can spend 1 hour in WSG for almost no honor if it is a turtle fest.
7. Be pro-active. Try and get people to play along with you. If your a healer, pst someone and follow them around healing. If you want to guard stables flag, pst that guy that is leaving and ask him to stay and guard with you.
8. Don't be negative. I know QQ in battleground chat makes you feel better, but it doesn't help. The more you win, the more honor you get.

9. Have something to do in between matches. I run out from Shat and start gathering herbs. Maybe you haunt the Auction House. Do something besides jump around by the battleground master.
10. If there is a battleground weekend, um, play that one!

Thats it for now, enjoy that phat gear!

Alterac Valley Defense

After playing enough games of AV to get exalted many times over, I thought I would share some tips. This post will focus on defense. You don't really want too much defense, 5-7 people is perfect. If you see a lot of people D'ing up, go offense. But, if no one is sticking around, harass the horde. There are 4 main defensive positions, seen in this shot:

1. The first place you want to harass and defend is Icewing Bunker. First start out by standing on the ledge and firing on the horde fighting below. When they make it into the bunker, guard the flag, fear bombing and inturrupting anyone trying to tap it.

You probably will not last very long here, but if you can keep the flag from being capped for 1 minute, that can be significant in a 15 min game.

2. After you are overrun at the bunker, fall back to the first GY. Here is where you can make a significant stand. If you can hold this GY for 3 minutes, that is a success. Watch for horde sneaking around the back, in this area:

A great thing to do is harass whoever is trying to kill the commander. Do "/target com" to target him and kill the tank. In this shot I have him targeted and ready to go when the horde comes around the corner.

Watch for the horde trying to kite the commander around the corner and tank him out of site. If you can't find him, look here:

3. This is the last GY. You probably will not be able to do much here, but fear the flag 1 or 2 times. However, anyone you kill will have a LONG way back to the fight. If you take out 1 horde here consider it a success.

4. Get in the hut. You can do a lot of harassing here. Use the NPC to defend you, then swing around the corner and fear/attack and duck back in. You can get the horde to chase you in and if they get to close, they pull the whole room. I laugh just imagining their chat channel

The point of defense is not to stop the horde in their tracks, it is to slow them down enough that your offense can win the game. Harass, and send them back!
